Well, I picked up the canned Evo 95% meat. He loves it. I've also tried the other cats with some. My female ate some, then buried it. My Siamese won't touch it, and my old male is eating a bit of it! This is the cat that doesn't mind the odd little lick of canned as a treat, and he ate about 1/4 can! I'm excited about this! I'm going to keep on trying with the ones that will eat it, see what happens.

Excellent! Make sure that the EVO can be fed as a complete diet (and not as a supplement) I'm not sure if this is intended for supplemental feeding only or for complete diet. If you get them eating canned that is a BIG step over eating kibble, even if you dont go raw with them all its FAR FAR healthier for them to be eating the canned then the kibble.

I'm a bit late chipping in here, but I've switched many cats and kittens to raw from kibble. It sounds like the stuff you're feeding him may just be too rich. Lots of cats have problems with beef, even some of mine who were raw professionals couldn't stomach it. I don't know about llama. Try to keep it to something a cat his size would eat realistically. Chicken is great. Rabbit too. Think smaller animals.
Hope this helps.
(and after I posted this I saw there was a page 2 with 2 more posts! LOL ooops! My advice still stands, though, if you plan on trying again)

Thanks, guys! I'm going to try him on the BK chicken in the morning. I was hoping if he was eating the canned a couple times a day, for a couple days, maybe he'll be willing to try the raw again in the morning. Wish me luck!

No luck with the raw chicken, either. Watson sniffed it, and then walked away. How do you convince a cat to try the raw when he equates it with violently vomiting?

Hmmm.....that is a tricky situation, Sherrylynne, I'll be honest I don't know. However, I CAN point you in the direction of some forums that might be able to help you better then I can. I've only ever switched 5 cats to a raw diet, and I had an fairly easy time with all of them. Ferrets is where I specialize, but let me hook you up with some CAT raw feeding specialists: Catster Raw Forum (not a super active forum, but still a good one):www.catster.com/forums/Raw_Food_DietHolisticat Forum (requires yearly $25 (?) membership fee, but its well worth it if you can spare the cash):www.holisticat.com/forum/index.php?sid=d654afd80438437051c260b11e848d8dYahoo! Group: RawCat: pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/rawcat/There might be a few more forums out there, but these are ones that I have been a member of that I recommend. I'm sorry I cant be of more assistance, but hopefully someone on one of these forums can offer the insight that I cant.

Thanks, Guili. I'm going to check out the Caster first, see what they have to say.

Guess what? All of the cats are finally on canned preperatory to the switch to raw! And hubby is on line with it this time! It probably helps that as I'm studying some of the info you gave me Guili, that I'm reading out loud to him some of the things that go into the kibbles!

Well, kitties had a few slivers of raw in their canned today. And they all ate at least some of it! Hopefully, the transition will be smoother than kibble to canned
