Thomas J is 6 months old now and has some thick long hair. It's so nice and soft. Is this normal for this time of year or just for his age? I never remember Skunkers having fur like this. And it just keeps getting lighter in the middle almost blond like underneath. I know their fur changes but when does it stop? Heres a pic. Also he looks fat to me, but eats the same things Skunkers eats, is this OK. He reminds me of JELLO! LOL

My Oliver is close to the same color as that. It might be age?? Also I think their coats get lighter close to winter, so he may be getting his winter coat. I don't know....

my babies have had thick fur in the summer, the adults have thinner fur.
As for color yes all of mine (but the white ones) are darker in the summer then the winter.

My kids have thick, long fur this summer. I really do think it has to do with them being on a natural diet.

I think they have beautiful long coats because of our lousy cold wet weather My guys are now shedding and getting ready for winter, putting on the winter flub but they didn't shed down like they did last year. The gorgeous coats are indeed a result of the diet. It's usually the first thing most people note when their furbabies have made the final switch to a raw diet. The depth of colour, the softness of the fur itself and the deep rich colours. It's all about diet ciao
