As soon as I finished posting, I knew I had to have her examined or else I'd never forgive myself for her passing. It cost me $450 to have her examined, have biopsies, and have the others looked over but I'm glad I did it. It turns out when Dr.Sreit opened her up, her chest was filled with blood. When he went to rinse her out, peices of her liver the size of a grain of sand flooded the table. He said that her liver was no longer intact, all 4 lobes were shattered. He said she had spots on her left kidney and pancreas as well. He sent some samples out, but said his text books never showed anything like this before. He said it looked like her liver has "exploded." He said asher lungs filled, she thought she was gettig tired, similar to CO2 poisoning, so she went to sleep and didn't wake up. It was a peaceful death. We are having her cremated. I feel a little better knowing there was nothing I could do, and that I gave her the best last month and 2 days she could have ever asked for. Dook Dook my little diva fert. You will be missed <3

Oh dear! That's horrible! I am so very sorry to hear of your tragic loss! Poor little Mayhem. I wonder if the final tests will reveal Juvenile Lymphosarcoma? How old was Mayhem? JL usually strikes from 12 to 18 months old. These little critters are just not with us long enough! My heart goes out to you.
With condolences, Kim

I'm sorry for your loss.
The blood in the chest would be the very first sign that something was up. The way her liver was in small chunks is VERY odd, if it were just in a few sections that would be a sign of major trama. Like with people, a large blow to the abdomen can cause organs to split.
Let us know what you find out.

Little May was estimated to be 2 years old, at least that's what the people I got her from told me. She could have been older. As far as Rob and I know, she had not had anything tramatic happen to her. The vet also said something about a few ( I don't remember which) of her organs being extremely pale. He kept referring to 2 text books during the whole thing, so he really didn't know what was going on. I do feel better knowing I couldn't prevent this. The vet aid at most, if we would have found out earlier, he would have said "if she gets bad we can put her down," but she never got bad. She just went to sleep...

forum.ferret.com/albumphoto.asp?albumid=202&asortType=6&apage=1I didn't rea;ize I had taken pictures the day efore she passed. I'm so glad I did. I remember now, that I realized her new fur was growing in silver and when I got beter pics I was going to make a post. She had a chocolate head and a silver butt, but the pictures didn't come out very good as far as showing the coloring. This pictures mean more to me than anything. I even got one of her wardancing.

May your sweet baby rest in peace. While it's so sad she passed, at least she wasn't in pain and you still have your other fuzzies. Know that she'll be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to do her adorable wardance for you when you meet again.
God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you And whispered, "Come to me" With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away, Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
