Mayhem came into my life by fate. I was supposed to get a pet store ferret but they wee closed so I called a classified ad. When I got her she was a bag of bones and barely living. In one month, 2 days I gave her the best she had ever known. I let her roam free fo the first time, and introduced her to foods other than frosted flakes. She became par of a business of three and was the diva of the group. She pranced about as if she owned the place and always got her way. In the short time I had her, she gained almost a whole pound, learned to play, and showered me with tons of tiny kisses and the occasional nibble. I know as we speak, she is pushing her way to the front of the line at the bridge grooming every ferret she meets on the way. I love you May-May. Dook dook precious girl, I miss you and grieve for myself, not you. You passed while I was away, in your sleep peacefully. You never saw it coming, and I'm glad. I can't wait to see you again and get your wonderful nose kisses, those are the best. Dook with the angels, and tell them whose boss! RIP baby girl...

Oh sweet Mayhem, you will be greated my another who carries your name, give him greeting because like you he didn't stay near long enough. A candle will be lit in your honour and to light you path. On soft paws, you will roam the green fields and smell the sweet smells. A memory of love will stir your thoughts and you will return to those that remember you with love and treasured memories. A gentle ghost who will always walk and be seen out of the corner of an eye, who will be heard on the whisper of the wind. Grab a star little one for another shines bright tonight, and that star is yours. Goodbye little one, Goodbye Sweet Mayhem

That is so sad how old was she? The people I got her from said she turned 2 in April. The also fed her frosted flakes as food and didn't let her out to play. I know she knows she was loved in her last month and 2 days, and I know I could not have done anything for her but it still hurts. Thank all of you for your love and support. It really means a lot to me.

Frosted flakes was her only food?!?!?! How did that poor child even live to be 2?!??! She is lucky to have found you then. She knows you love her. Would you like me to make you an angel of her? If so post a pic of her and I will. That would be wonderfull Here are all of the pictures of her that I have... forum.ferret.com/albumphoto.asp?albumid=202&asortType=6&apage=1

it's beautiful! That was the last picture I took of her, and it's my favorite. She LOVED to dook and war dance for no reason, and that's what she's doing in this picture, and right now.... thank you so much! I really do love it!

You were loved in the past month very much. Sometimes they let go once they have found love, that's all she needed, and you gave it to her.

I brought her ashes home today. For now, until I figure out what I'm going to do, she is going to sit on top of the cage and keep watch over all of us...

We have the family dog's ashes (Jager) on a shelf in the living room with a picture of him on a good day laying in the leaves (He was a Wire aired pointing griffon so he blended in well) And we have his favorite toy a black kong ball sitting next to it.

I used to get so scared/mad when she would climb to the top of the cage and play in my mom's Ivy that she gave me... it was her favorite thing to do... when I'd go to get her down, she'd look at me like "what'd I do, I'm having som fun!" Some of out friends got us a picture frame with two ferets as the frame and we're going to get one of her pictures printed up and put that next to her ashes sometime soon too...
