Got some ground mouse from Hare Today...
It stunk. Not awful but definitely an odor. She wouldn't touch it. Tried the scruff and stuff...she hated it and ended up throwing up!
I only gave her a fingerful for the scruff and stuff and she heaved it up.
No way JOSE!

Yeah I'm a little confused as to why it smelled bad. The only prey I've had that stinks is rabbit and that's only because of the tripe (which I remove). I've never smelled anything from my mice but I feed mine whole.
I've only had bad experiences with Hare Today. I ordered food for the dog from them and it was very thawed by the time it got to me. I didn't order anything ground though. Ground meat goes bad MUCH easier than whole prey because it's so exposed to air. Plus ground does very little for their teeth because they don't get to chew up the bones.

I've heard...don't know for sure...that ground mouse doesn't smell very good Stress might have caused her to vomit but it might have been off, which would also mean she would refuse to eat it ciao

Or she might also just prefer meat in chunks as compared to ground. To get my guys eating commercial raw(ground mix), I really had to push the issue with them. Even now, though, they far prefer the chunked meats.

Well I would like to give her mouse. I plan to get a Vitamix blender. Should I just get a whole mouse, thaw it out and ground it up. God I wonder if I'd get squeamish...

Have you tried offering her whole mouse without grinding it? Maybe cut it in half to give her the idea and she how she does?

You can also start her with pinkies mixed in with her meat, and graduate up through the sizes. Quite frankly, I don't think mine would accept their mice ground up.
