This is my rescue ferret Blanket. He started developing adrenal symptoms this fall, and I started giving him melatonin orally. Also in Nov. switched to a raw diet. Look how much, and quickly, he has improved! I was giving him the melatonin for a couple months (since about Oct). He was holding his own and even in Dec. didn't look so great, but this month he has grown so much hair! Look how great he looks! Also as an aside: Until about two weeks ago, I gave his melatonin in the morning. Now I give it about 2-3 pm. Today: 12-18-10: August 2010: 1-28-11 (Today): 12-4-10: The pictures aren't in order because I saved the worst one for last.

I named him Blanket after Michael Jackson's kid. Not that I'm a big MJ fan, but he said he used that nickname with his kids to mean "blessing," and taking Blanket in was a blessing for all of us. Someone had him for 5 years and then just dumped him at the pet store, really really skinny, and at the pet store (not a chain) they nursed him back to health, and after two months I took him.

He is so lovable. He loves to have his chin scratched. I never met a ferret I didn't want to take in. Of course, I have to stop myself before I end up on "Animal Hoarders."

He looks so good. Good for you taking him in, even knowing he has adrenal. I know what you mean about animal hoarders. I'll be on that show... LOL j/k, my house is clean and everyone is VERY well taken care of.
