Hi.. before I got ferrets I did all my researched and everything, I had ordered pinkies and fuzzies(?) so for the pinkies I would grind them up and I used all of them. My female ferret ate some of it a long time ago but my male would have nothing to with it. So eventually I didn't have the time and it was frustrating. So these mice have been in my freezer for 5 months at least.. Are they still okay to feed? I put one in the food bowl just to see what would happen to it. So we will see. If I could just throw a few mice in the a day I would definitely try to get them on it. I'm so sick of constantly trying to find a good kibble, but I feel so guilty I'm not giving them the best I can. But anyways, I do need to finish up the mice I have.
How does everyone feed their ferrets whole prey? Do you just throw yours in there in the morning? And does their bedding get gross?

Yes, they're still fine to feed. I give mine their food (whole prey) in a feeding den and let them do what they will with it. When they finish, I give them more. Whole prey is covered in fur and feathers so it takes much longer than raw to spoil.
One of mine likes to take her food in the cage so she can eat in bed. Bedding does get a little dirty but as long as you keep an eye on it and wash it frequently (I wash bedding once a week) it's fine.

Yeah, they are definitely still good! The only way I got mine on whole prey was to chop the pinkies into their raw meat. Then we did fuzzies, etc. With the mice with fur, I cut open the belly, and squirted in some 'tone to get them interested, and so on up the sizes. We are now at adult mice, and they adore them!
