Ok, so I am kind of curious about MegaWeasel... he is sSSSOOoo itchy!! I am really hoping it is not adrenal... he is only a yr and a few months, but I know it really doesn't matter the age, I am just trying to think more the liklihood. Anyway, I have posted ab this before... over the summer he was a fat fluffy fluff and when everyone else got there winter coats, his got sparse and he lost weight... sooo I have been hoping it is mixed seasons since he was born around Thanksgiving of 2009. I looked on his tail where his fur has really thinned and see those little black dots, am I correct in thinking that this is hair coming in? I have just really been holding out 1) for his annual appt in 2 weeks and 2) to see if his coat changes? Bc he is a healthy weight, plays tons, and eats well. I am going to find and post pics of him over the summer vs now bc the chunky fluff difference is pretty evident.
I mean I know I should ask my vet, but as sweet as he is I don't think he is really up to date with ferrets. There is another vet I can go to but it is an hour away and yes they know their stuff, but I save them for emergencies... bc I took Beatrice there just for a checkup (by that I mean they just held her and looked her over), a glucose test, and a bottle of pred and it was over $200, and the vet in town doesn't charge me office visits (just med price) bc I have been going to him since I was a kid and would go with my mom to take our cats. Plus, he likes to see my ferrets. For me to take 2 ferrets for a check up and distemper shots it was only $30... so you can see the big difference. When we were discussing surgery options for Beatrice over the summer he told me he could do it for me for $150, so you can see why this is where I go just for check ups. I mean, he knows how to treat ferrets, but he is ab 45, and things have changed since vet school and what not.
Anyway, if you guys could, just give me ur opinion on MegaWeasel. Like I said, he acts totally fine! It is just his fur is a lot thinner, and so is his body! I mean, he is muscular and 'fit' not skinny... he just isn't a fat blob like the others lol.
