So I have the cats switched over to all raw except for 1 meal a week they get some canned. When I gave them canned they each got about 5.5 oz. Since switching to raw Neko doesnt eat that much. Maybe about 4 oz a day. Is that normal? Ty also gained .2 pounds since switching him to raw so he is now getting 5 oz of raw. Are they just getting too much food? Do they not need as much raw as they did canned?

That sounds about right to me...my estimate's based on me putting out roughly 25 oz daily for 3 cats and 3 ferts (who probably eat and stash 3-4 oz each ), and if 12-15 oz of that is eaten by the cats, that's 4-5oz daily per cat. Canned foods do tend to have some kind of grain or fiber filler, and since raw is more nutrient dense they'll eat less of it than they did of the canned and poop less too. Litter box clean-up has been so much better since the switch . I noticed my cats gained a little weight too but it seems to all be muscle mass, I can feel better tone when I massage them. Also, I think they put on winter weight since they're indoor/outdoor and get exposed to the cold and they weren't quite this heavy over the summer even though they were eating raw then too.

Thanks. I was worried because Neko is only eating 4 oz which doesnt seem like a lot of food and Ty gained weight which was diappointing because Im trying to get him to lose. Before he gained that .2 he had lost 3 pounds. But now I know to limit him food more.
