I was thinking of breeding mice for food for my ferret (soon to be ferrets) when they are switched to raw. I have raised mice and rats before as pets and am pretty confident I can breed them fine for food. The problem I have is that, I raised them as pets before, not food. So I never had to cull them before. What is the most humane way of culling them for feeding. I COULD just always feed mice live but I don't really think I want to do that. I may end up over populated and I don't want to hold on to live mice for a long time till the ferret is ready to eat them. So how is it done?

Most people use Co2, you can set up make shift chamber pretty cheaply.
