Joclyn, if you are still in contact with that idiot, here's a pic of a ferret fed a vegetarian diet:

OMG that poor thing! I wish more people would understand that THIS is why we are working on feeding/already feeding a raw meat diet. I wish I could show this to my sister-in-law.

Yes seriously, I want to see that too! The problem dealing with these types of people is that they are so emotionally charged and believe what they are doing is right that they won't listen to anyone else. We all need to be careful because its easy to think we are being open minded and doing the right thing when we really aren't. I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter, I was planning on having a home water birth. I didn't want any drugs or anything because I wanted to do everything natural. Well things didn't go according to plan, my water broke but no contractions, I refused to go to the hospital and have her induced. After four days I was loosing too much water and relented. They started the pitosin drip and I suddenly went from 0-100 on the contraction scale. No gradual warm ups, just right to the main event. LOL! Well it hurt like hell but because I was going to have a natural birth I didn't pay attention to the drug part during the birthing classes. So now that I really needed something I didn't know my options. I didn't want an epidural so I went with some narcotic that only lasted for an hour and I could only get two of those. Needless to say they weren't very helpful and the birth lasted for 12 hours. I finally got the epidural. What I learned from that experience was that I really thought I was being open minded but I wasn't. I was being stubborn and wanted things MY way. As cool as it may have been.

i generally agree with what you're saying, cindy.
in this case/situation, it's not a matter of being openminded. this guy is promoting a diet that is not only unhealthy for ferrets - it'll KILL them, slowly & painfully!

And he's simply doing it because it's making him a LOT of cash.

It's a really good point cindyrads has. Unfortunately, unlike your "blindness" his is coloured with money. He may indeed have ideals but I doubt that "he" actually has those ideals. I do think that he's counting on other people to be that blind and that idealistic though. I've met people who are through their own beliefs and points of view hold a distorted ideal as to how things should be. They would believe that the lamb indeed should be able to lie with the lion safely and without harm...just feed him kibble....vegetarian kibble . They aren't the problem, they aren't the evil....he is because he's preying on their beliefs and the vulnerability of people who believe that those that manufacture kibbles will do what's right by their furkids ciao

Oh I'm not saying I don't agree about his guy being bad. But as someone posted earlier its a waste of time trying to educate him because he is not willing to listen. I got the impression by what I read here that he is anti feeding animals to animals. (I don't know anything other then what was being posted.)
The only thing you can do is educate the people buying the food and hope the are willing to listen. But when people get emotional about something common sense goes out the window unfortunately.

You can't take it down but someone CAN make a website explaining the dangers of feeding a vegetarian diet to carnivores. Make the name similar or put the name of the guys food in the META tags so that the site will pop up when someone does a search on this guys food.

That is just sickening! I can't stand ignorant people like that...and many of you are so right, he's only doing it for the money!! One thing I noticed (Don't know if this or relevant or not, but was a bit interesting to me!) was that you CAN'T find reviews from the people who buy, there aren't any options for it on the site (unless you sign in, maybe? But there's NO WAY I'm doing that!!) Which is almost obligate, for most consumer sites. So I'm wondering if the feedback has been horrible? I can't imagine it being GOOD! Anyways, I feel so bad for the people who fall for this scheme and buy the food! It comes down to, people need to be more informed about their animals!!! That's why I love this site so much, you all try so hard to get the word out about ferrets, their diets, and so much more!
