I would lvoe to see those teeth pics if you can find them. He seems to be doing better today. A few ok poops, a few sloppy poops, but no green diarrhea yet since last night. I had Shane pick up some Rescue Remedy on his way over, but they were all out of the normal stuff. The only one they had was alcohol free. I know normally it has alcohol in it, will the alcohol free stuff work just as well? I figured that it is better than none at all, so I put a little on each of their ears. I wasn't sure how many, and the dropper is oddly shaped, making it hard to actually count drops. I just rubbed a spot of it on one ear for each of them. Not in the ear, but on the top of it. Is that ok? When should I give them another dose, and would it be better to put it elsewhere? www.amazon.com/Rescue-Remedy-Pet-10-Liquid/dp/B001FUNBC8

One or two drops or you can put it in their drink water (that's how I apply it) It's usually 5 o 10 drops to water. Usually, when I realize the stress-or is going to last for a longer period of time, like introducing new cage mates, or when a fert is being babysat away from home, I will dose on the ear or bridge of nose and then add some to their water. If they continue to be stressed or depressed then I will give it again 2 or 3 times during the day on the ear, until I see them starting to relax. I will continue to apply to water (every time I change the water as needed). You can't overdose, it just doesn't work any better and you're just wasting product. I've had a couple of boys who swam in it Alcohol vs water based....just keeps longer. The Ferrets would probably like the water based better (better for them too ) I'm glad that he's doing better. Stress does horrible things to these little ones. ciao

Thanks! I will give them a few more drops before bed then. I put some in the other ear and above their noses. Kenai's poop is a LOT better, but it is very seedy. He doesn't seem to be having pain when pooping today though, so I will hold off on the Slippery Elm. Koda's poop looks fantastic, but he is still not eating enough.

RR is good for people too, right? How many drops would a person need?

Hmmm...maybe I will try some before bed tonight myself! I have a big BioChem test in the morning and I feel really unprepared still. (*looks around* Who me? Distracted from studying by a baby ferret? No! Definitely not me! ) I always stress over big big tests, and this is essentially the first half of the "Final." Second half is on Wednesday.

Year ago when I got my 2 my two Marshall, kids. the we supposed to have been shipped at 6 weeks and they had been at the pet store for 1 week. They had the double canines - so the age seemed to be accurate. Six weeks is extremely young to be selling ferrets...We saw very young ferrets at the pet store all the time quite a few years ago. Now I never see them that young, so I assume they ship them at later ages (- the ones I see seem to be about 9+ weeks old.

I understand exactly what you're going through. I have my biochem lab exam Tuesday (plus a lab report : and the lecture exam next week. I'm sure you'll do fine. I couldn't image having a kit right now. Glad Kenai is doing better!

I am super grateful that I don't have to do a lab for BioChem! *shudders* I abhor labs (especially research, but that's a whole different ball game). The tests are really weird and he won't say how he curves, so it is really stressful - I have NO clue where I stand in the class. My grade could be anywhere from a C to an A. And I NEED an A! Kenai's poops are suuuper seedy but getting more solid.

The lab is my favorite part! The reports are mainly just a discussion of what we did, plus some calculations - not really research intense. My school doesn't actually have grades, so it takes a LOT of the pressure off. We do a lot of group work, presentations, HW assignments, so tests are worth less. Plus, if we "happen" to fail the lab exam, we can retake it next week anyway Not that I'm plan on failing, but it's nice to have a security blanket. Sorry about his stools . Pixie has been stressing me out so much over her's, and they are finally back to normal.

Just an update - Kenai's poop looks like it came from a totally different ferret! I think the RR is helping! Also, I rubbed some of it on my ear lobes last night before bed. I fell asleep really quickly (never happens for me! I have a difficult time going to sleep, but then I was also very tired). I slept really well - again unusual for me as I tend to be restless and wake up a lot and have nightmares. I slept SO well in fact, that I was almost late for my test! I set multiple alarms because ever since I had mono I tend to sleep through them on occasion (I never ever used to do that, but now even though I am long over the mono I still do it). The first alarm I slept through, then I woke up to the next one and saw it was 7:00. I live across the street from school so I had plenty of time to get ready. I said just 15 more minutes, and I blinked. When my eyes reopened from my "blink" it was 8:00! I had class at 8:30 and I made it JUST in time! lmao Anyways, long unrelated story. Moral of the story is that Rescue Remedy is awesome. I recommend anyone who uses it tries it so they know how it feels/works.
