I am confused (nothing new there ) I have 4 cats: 1 neutered male 6 years 5,7 kg 1 neutered male 6 years, 5,0 kg 1 neutered female 6 year, 4,4 kg 1 neutered female 4 years, 5,2 kg How much meat should i expect them to eat a day. I think it is VERY little they eat a day. The keep their weight. The big male have even gained 200 gram. I know i cant compare with the ferret since it is adult(starting to older) cats and 3 of my ferrets are kits. But the ferret EAT and the cats just "taste" the meat Since they dont lose weight they get what they need just think they eat little What is the "normal" amount for a cat in that age/size to eat a day.

From my understanding, cats will eat about 3%- 5% of their body weight daily, on average. So for a 10lb(4.5 kg) cat, that would be approx. 5- 8 oz a day. That, of course, changes on how active they are, age, illness, etc. That, and the fact some simply eat more or less than others. When trying to switch mine, the most my 10lb 4 yr old Watson would eat was 5 oz a day.

As long as they are healthy and active, they are getting enough
