Yes, they are. Far easier . She may just be tired of chicken. Try her with something else, see how she does.

If you can, try picking up a variety. The more she tries different meats, the less likely she is to imprint on one.

You may have to do what I did, which is make a soup with it. Puree, and add a bit of heavy cream for flavouring. Puree 2-3 livers, with about a tsp of the cream. For a total meal of the liver puree, give her a couple of tbsp. Depending on how she does with it, you can gradually start adding slivers of liver to the soup, til she's eating it on it's own. Heavy cream doesn't have the same effect as regular milk, because it doesn't have as much lactose in it. You can gradually phase out the cream as they take to it better. You may also wind up mixing in some other meat with the puree, just to cut the taste and smell of the liver, or if she gets really loose poops from it.

ok. sounds fun would it be bad just to feed her livers until she figures out she has to eat them or go hungry??

With liver, yes. She should only have the equivalent of one chicken liver a week, because of the possibility of too much vit. A.

Any liver, no more than the equivalent of a chicken liver. So about 2 oz worth. If you can get any other organ, then the same amount of that as well. This includes kidney, spleen, lung, brain, etc. What size meat chunks is she eating now? Make the heart the same size. After all- heart is just another muscle meat. Mine consider heart meat right up there next to whole prey for how fast they'll put it back, especially chicken hearts, which I just give whole

ok. well for beef the pieces aren't that big, because of the type of meat it is. the pork chunks are about 1 dollar sized.... i guess that's how big you could say.... and chicken are about the same size when i give it to her, which would be tonight i have no idea on how to get her eating bones. o.0

You can try wing tips for her, if she'll eat chicken again. Or pick up some cornish hen. Even when mine are tired of chicken, they'll still eat that. Check out any asian/ethnic markets in your area. You might be able to get turkey necks there, or even rabbit.

i have a turkey neck, but wouldn't that be hard for her to eat??
and i don't think we have any of those markets around here.

I have to cleaver mine up for them, and yes, it's usually used once they are already eating bone. As I'd said, you can always try cgh, or the wings/wing tips to get her started. Do you have a Chinatown where you are? That's where you'll find the asian markets.

im not sure. but i think so. anyway, with the chicken wings, they don't have the tips on them any more, on the packages it says tips removed, but i did pick up some and see if she'll go for that. i think i'll be getting another ferret soon! maybe, i saw this adorable little guy, and i do mean little, he was three months apparently, he was so cute, but rough, so i didn't get him, as belle wouldn't and doesn't like rough lol

Good luck with a new little one! They sure are a handful at such a young age I think the youngest I got was 3 1/2 months. The rest from about 5-6 months and up. If she'll eat the wings, section them, and chop the drumette to expose the marrow. For the middle section, cut between the two bones, then chop those in half.
