Great news! I got an email from a woman replying to an ad I had posted. She is so desperate to rehome her ferret, that she is going to give us the pair, their cage, and all of their accessories for FREE! Crazy eh?

I'm starting to think I'm not going to hear back from this woman, which stinks, but all well. Zoe will get a new buddy soon.
Zoe and Elliott both had split chicken breasts this morning. Much nomming occured.

It will happen when it is meant to. I've found that ferrets come to us when THEY are ready, not when we are ready!
Is Elliott eating bone as well??

Elliott will knaw on the ends of them, but won't really eat the center part of any chicken bones I give her. She'll eat the smaller rib bones in split chicken breast.
Zoe got gizzards for breakfast wing pieces tonight. Elliott only got a drumette for dinner because y roommate didn't work until late today. Elliott's laying next to me now, so I went to go check. No meat left, and a few gnaw marks. I think I might try exposing the marrow the next time I give her a drumette.

Good, I was going to suggest that. Keep an eye on her litterbox, too, because cats need a lot less bone than ferrets do, and can become constipated if they get too much.

Will do. Her litterbox looks so much better already. My roommate even commented on it, and I just smiled. I plan on telling her everything I've been doing right before we move out.

Sneaky, sneaky. Hopefully that's enough to convince your roommate!!

One can hope.
Things were so crazy on Saturday that I wasn't able to give Zoe her liver soup. So she got it today. It's funny watching her lap it up.

Good to hear, I love watching their nomnom faces at souptime too. Some of the kids sure make some hilarious faces.

So ferret math struck the house, but not me. I come into the house and what do I see? A FN 142 with two of the smallest, skinniest, cutest boys ever. My roommate has gotten ferrets.
I immediately sat down with them and tried feeding them a few slivers of chicken gizzards (it was the only boneless thing I had defrosted). They took them, but only if I soaked them in Furotone first.
Erinn, they are so skinny. When I felt them I was almost afraid to pick them up. I was worried I was going to hurt them. I don't know what their previous owner was thinking with them. Cat litter in their litter boxes, unknown kibble in a random tupperware container, no hammocks, barely any toys, gravity water bottles...it's horrible.

Double Strike! That lady finally got in touch with us, and she still has the two girls. She said she'd give us a call tomorrow so we could see about going to see them. There is going to be five ferrets in this house...
