Sounds like progress to me Your little one will come around. Sometimes changing to a raw diet is enough to settle down some of the tummy issues. Kibbles has a lot of garbage in it that is actually irritating to the stomach and keeps little ferts perpetually at a point of dehydration. Unfortunately, dehydration in carnivores is perpetuated by their lack of desire and make up to drink. They should be gettin most of their water from their diet. This isn't possible in that dried out biscuit called kibbles.
Your vet may or may not support you, there are a lot out there who don't believe in feeding raw. Vets are not trained in pet nutrition except in the seminars taught by Hill's...now that's not a biased session of teaching I've been feeding raw/natural for over 10 yrs. I've convinced 2 vets now that I actually know what I'm doing and have spoken to more than a few others who will conceed that my guys are healthy, happy and will not infect everyone with germs I've had over 30 ferrets that I've switched personally. I've presently got 16 in house ferts ranging from about 2 yrs to Babushka who is over 10 yrs. All except Napoleon are rescues (I run a small private rescue/hospice). My guys eat specially prepared ground, ground commercial, frankenprey and prey. If you follow the directions of your mentors you should be able to "balance' your furbabies diets without much difficulty. Unfortunately, the powers that be have "brainwashed" us into believing that we're not smart enough or educated enough to prepare food for our furkids. We can feed ourselves and make educated decisions about balancing our diet but we cannot make decisions about how we feed our furkids. If you think about it, we put more thought into a raw diet than we ever do about kibbles. Kibbles were created during the war for working dogs in the field, who needed a regular diet that was easily portable and convenient with little to no chance of spoilage. It was never meant to become "real" food. You have a greater chance of contracting salmonella from your furkids kibbles than you have of getting it from their raw meats.
You can continue to feed ground foods and it is by far healthier than kibbles. You won't get the teeth cleaning benefits, nor will you get the muscle and mental stimulation that they get from whole foods but you're feeding far better than ever before. So you will have to do your research and make some decisions but that's not a bad thing Don't be surprised if your vet is hesitant though we are getting more and more converts
Good luck, keep me posted
ciao
