1. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names, ages, genders, and do they have any health problems (this is VERY important)?
I have 1 polcat jill, Shes nearly a year old. Her names stinky (Im not to keen on this name but my befriend named her it) and she seems to have taken to it quit well. :D
She has no health problems.
2. What are your ferrets currently eating? Include their main diet, plus any treats or supplements (such as duk soup).
I feed her james wellbeloved ferret compelete, for treats she has ferretone and bandits ferret treats chicken, peanut butter and raisen flavour.
3. What kind of diet do you want to switch to?
I would like to change her to a more natural diet, raw meat.
4. Why do you want to switch to this more natural diet?
Because ferrets are carnorviors and thats what there ment to eat and i feel she could get so much more nutrition and protein from raw meat. And shel benefit from it so much more.
5. Where/what/who got you interested in natural diets?
I got her from a ferret home and the ferret lady tryed her on raw meat but she wouldnt take to it atal bless her :-[. So the lady told me how she would of loved to put her on raw meat and how she feeds hers a more natural diet raw meat, mice, chics etc and explained how it is important for there diet so it got me thinking and i started to research it and found out more info and then was convinced with it all shes ment to eat raw meat. IF i can get her to eat it thats what i want her to eat.
6. Please list the current weight for your ferret(s). Do they appear overweight? Underweight? How is there muscle tone?
I tihnk shes 1 1/2 pound i know shes not over weight or under because i just had her spayed and the vet likes to weigh them before he operates becuase of going under. But if you want me to get persefic reading i can take her to the vets to get her weighed. :)
7. What is the condition of your ferret's teeth/gums? (can you get a picture?)
Her gums are pink and her teeth are white. Yourl have to bare with me on the pics dont know how to do it yet. :D
8. Describe the texture/color of your ferrets coat.
Her white bits are soft on her head, neck. her dark brown on her sides and belly legs and tail are soft. But the black fur at the bottom part of her back as you head towards the tail its a bit dry. Part from that her coats quit soft.
9. How often does your ferret go to the bathroom?
She goes about 3-4 times a day.
10. Does your ferret's feces and/or urine smell?
Her pee pee dont smell but her poo smells only slightly tho its not that bad.
11. Smell your ferret. How strong is their odor?
Her odors not that bad. its not strong atall its quit mild. When i got her the ferret lady thought she had been spayed becuase her smell was very mild but we soon relise she wasnt, :D
12. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being completely lethargic and 10 being "through the roof!" what is your ferret's energy level?
my ferret isnt very energitic but she not very lazy either id say bout a 5 1/2
13. How excited is your ferret about meal time (when fed kibble)?
Well she gets excited she knows when its dinner time she follows me to the pot and trys to hurry me up by trying to nick the kibble and when i put it in her bowl shes there stright away scoffing it all up :D.
14. Have you attempted to switch from kibble to a natural diet in the past? If so, what methods have you tried. Be specific.
no, but me and the ferret lady have introduced raw meat to her but she just puts her nose up to it.
15. What other information about your ferret(s) would you like to share?
Well shes a rescue ferret so i dont know her back ground ive only had her bout 5-6months now i just got her spayed and i know her previous owners feed her on dry food not sure what make or type. her previos owners werent english so the lady couldnt understand them much. But i do know 1 thing i love her and just want whats best for her, And i know im ganna have a challenge trying to change her from dry :D.
