I was wondering if anyone knows of something Natural I could use for adrenal, and insulinoma. I know its a strange question, but someone has to ask, lol. I'm just looking for ANY info. I don't have a natural ferret vet near me or I would go to them. Thank you for all the help.

For Adrenal there is melatonin which is natural but sometimes certain ferrets do not respond to it. For Insulinoma all there is is Prednisolone (liquid prednisone) or surgery but the tumors always come back.
My only experience with insulinoma has been with traditional treatments with my first set of ferts. One of my current ferrets may be mildly adrenal, but we're not sure since her bloodwork was so marginal and has returned to normal levels during the low-hormone time of year.
Hey Jennifer, by "remote" treatment, do you mean like...he could sort of help other patients via email/phone? My issue is that my vet knows lots about ferrets and seems to be proactive in the fight against Marshall (which I heavily approve) and has done plenty of ferret surgeries successfully. I trust her if I have to, but honestly, I feel that a more ferret-central vet would be better. I like your vet's website. I don't have the luxury of a true, honest-to-goodness, ferret vet anywhere near me, but I always have my usual vet to help with problems and surgery if needed.
It would be awesome to have someone I could get "remote" treatment from should that come around.
Humans call me Vicki. Munchkin, Jasmine and JackJack all know me as Momma.

Thanks Jennifer for that information. I have been doing the "typically" treatment for adrenal and insulinoma. I seem to have away of finding the ferrets in need, hah. I only have one that is a candidate for surgery, however I know that it will come back. That was part of the reason I was looking in to alternative solutions. I also believe that the liquid melatonin is much better, as that is what I use. However I can't always use the prednisone with the melatonin because it causes side effects in a couple of my ferrets with both. So I was looking for something more tummy settling, as well as healing for them. Thank you! I will let him know that you are the one that referred me!

Please let us know what he comes up with and how it's working. I'm relatively new to the herbal/holistic stuff, and I'm finding it effective and fascinating.
I've been really lucky since all 4 of my kids have been really healthy so far. We've been to Dr. MCC only once - it was earlier this year because my girl had inflammation on her gum near her incisors. Her teeth/gums are clean, so it may have been associated with the Lupron shot, but we don't know. ANyway, I'd be shocked if Dr. MCC remembered me.
ANyway, I will be getting Dr. MCC's input, input from CSU, and input from my traditional vet regarding adrenal treatment. One of my girls had a very slight elevation in estradiol levels last Spring. This is why I tried the lupron. after 2.5-3 months on lupron, the bump appeared on her gum, but her adrenal panel came back normal. I will be retesting again in late January.
