Just a quick post to let you know Opie made it through another day. It was a good day for him. He is resting comfortably. No more fever. I feed him every two to three hours. I leave the food in but he doesn't eat it yet. He does drink by himself and it seems like he is drinking alot. I found him asleep in the litter box. He was full of poo. I was cleaning him up for a good 20 minutes. I think he has a foot fetish because he was enjoying it so much he even streched his leg way out and then he fell asleep. Even with him being as sick as is is he still made me laugh. My poor baby. At least for now he is my lap fuzzie. My daughter is going to help me tomorrow and I will post some pictures of him. Well goodnight. Novemberkris what kind of kibble issues did you have with Pauly if you don't mind me asking.

On nearly every kibble (8-1 Ultimate, EVO, and Marshalls), he would get green mucuosy poops. He poops, after he passed adolescence, stayed seedy more often then not. He always seemed gassy (and still seems to get bouts of gas now and again). Since he was active, I figured it was something in his food and I would figure it out. Marshall's treated his digestive system the best, but I knew that would likely lead to insulinoma.
I had just decided to introduce raw because I learned about food allergies( he thought raw was poison and never touched) before the emergency trip. Through the morning and afternoon he was fine, then in the evening he was teeth grinding, hiding under everything, hiding in the covers of my bed and not moving, not wanting me to touch him. I knew I had to call the emergency vet in the morning (and since I'd just moved a couple months ago, I didn't know who to call. Called OSU vet school and got the number for my current vet). In the morning, he would no longer drink water and had had one orange poop. (I have never seen an orange poop before or after this).
They and I thought he had a blockage, but surgery revealed massive intestinal inflammation caused by some sort of infection. He was on Baytril, the Metrowhatever, Rimadyl, and Antacid for about a week. After that, I let him recover on soupies.
Long after he recovered I couldn't move him from soupies back to kibble, and his poops never returned to normal. So, I switched him to raw commercial diet. His poops have been normal (most days) ever since.
