Oh my goodness, those poor little kittens. Thank you for taking them in! I understand the scatterbrained-ness with that responsibility hanging over you. I know you'll nurture them just right and they'll happy and healthy in no time.
How on earth did they get inside of a high school??
Let me know how the rabbit goes over - I just tried some with my newbie Morgan, and he loved it. Today is pork day and he's not quite as fond of that, yet.

Two of the babies died this morning. The one was in bad shape yesterday when he came in and the female had a deformed foot, which could have been a neurologic thing. The female died in my hand while I was trying to get her to breathe. The third male is doing well so far. (knock on wood, don't wanna jinx myself) I'm tube feeding him right now and give small amounts of subcutaneous fluids.
The high schools out here are open, and vending machines are often outside in the quad. Students have to walk outside to get to pretty much every class.

Oh that is so sad, I'm so terribly sorry. You did all that you could. Let's hope that this other baby makes it. Give him scritches for me.

The final male died the same evening as my post. We think they were premature. Most kittens when born are about 4 ounces while these babies were 1.5 and 2 ounces. I'm still working with the kibble and patty heads. They are not budging at all

PENELOPE ATE CHICKEN!!!!! It was tiny pieces and hidden in canned food but SHE ATE IT!
As for the kibble head ferret, I'm just going to have to put switching him over on pause because it's simply impossible with the guest in their room. He's supposed to be out by the end of next month though, so the pause won't be too long.

OMG PENELOPE!!! I'm so completely excited!!!!!!!! Have you tried again since???
Kibble head may do better once you've got their room back, so I understand holding off for the time being. It looks like he's just going to be the last one, now that Penelope is starting to eat chicken (however hidden it may be currently!)

Yes, at every feeding she gets a chunk of chicken cut up and mixed with canned food. She continues to eat it so I'm (very very gradually) increasing the size of the chicken.

I'm so sorry for my absence! I ended up losing my internet access and have been busy with school and work otherwise. While I'm still looking for reliable, affordable internet, I hope you've been able to move along with their switch alright.
How was your mini vaca??? How is everyone doing? Penelope moved onto bigger pieces of chicken???

It's alright, I haven't even been on the internet much. My mom's brother is getting ready to move back into his own house so I'm gearing up to convert the guest room into the ferret room. My mom is letting me saw the door in half so I don't have to worry about keeping everyone contained. Penelope is doing wonderfully and gnawing on drumsticks and loving raw in general. The rest are wonderful, and like I said, I'm holding off with Dorian until I can work with him a lot.
My vacation was alright. It was hectic and I didn't get much rest but it was nice to just step away from everything for a few days.

Ugh, life's been so crazy I haven't even been able to get on for awhile. Everyone's doing well.
I have 3 new kittens that I'm raising raw. I am fostering them but at the rate we're going, we're never going to find homes for them. No one wants/can afford more pets. I've had them for 3 1/2 weeks and they're 7 1/2 weeks old now. They are gung-ho about the raw chicken. It's awesome. It's so easy when you start them this young!
Ferrets are doing great. Everyone's eating chicken and chicks. Adult cats are doing great too.
