I went and picked up some more chicken breast and I also picked up a pound of chicken wings. I'm running really low on kibble and I hope I can get Leo switched to at least eating chunks of chicken so I won't have to buy more kibble. Is legmeat okay, or should you stick to white meats?

Leg meat is ok! Is Molly eating the boneless meat well? I would wait until she's used to eating the boneless to move on to boned meat. As for Leo, how's he doing?

Yes, Molly eats the meat like she's been eating it for years lol. That's why I grabbed the boned chicken~ Leo I still need to bread the chicken with kibble for. They seem to be doing ok.

Great!! Since Molly is eating the boneless well, you can move her onto boned meat. Also the next time you go shopping try to pick up some wings! It helps ferrets transition to boned meat! In the next day or two, lets' try weaning Leo off the breaded meat. You're doing a great job!!

They are like little chicken wings, I'm pretty sure they are the right ones (I dont usually buy wings =p). Should I just put the wings on a plate and see what they do with it? Molly loves to stash her meat and i'm worried she's gonna forget a piece one of these days, lol. Well, gonna give them some more boneless tonight and try to introduce the wings to Molly.

As long as they wings are raw and not seasoned they're ok, lol! First I would just give her the wing and see what she does. If she won't eat it, you may have to cut it into smaller pieces. LOL, I started using a feeding cage after I found one to many bones under my bed. Also, just give Molly the wing and Leo whatever he eats. If Molly gets the boneless she may fill up on that and not even touch the wing. Anyways let me know how it goes!

I usually just fill up their bowl whenever it's empty and I dont see any meat laying around their cage (usually once a day, full bowl). What is the best kind of feeding schedule? Annnd yeah, that's what she did, lol, she took the wing off to her stash spot and then filled up on boneless... the wings have been in there since about 10pm last night (It's 1:10PM now)... I think she gnawed off some part of it, but they look to be the only meat left in the cage. Should I wait? Or pull it out and put it back in the fridge to try later?

As long as they have food around or frequent meals they will be fine :-)! A good schedule for feeding is one-two times a day unless you leave food available to them all day. Also meat should only sit out a max. of 24 hours. LOL, yep sounds like a ferret!! You can either wait and if there's any left, chuck it or you can take it out now and give it to Molly later. Did Leo eat any of the boneless meat? Anyways keep up the good work!

He seems to be doing pretty well. Yeah, I've been taking out the meat as I go, anything that doesn't look like something I'd cook I throw out. LOL =p She didnt seem very interested in the wing though, left most of it. I am going to try chopping it up into a couple of rough pieces.

Hey! Quick reply!! =p I just spotted Leopold munching on some of the legmeat I served up tonight. I used a big butcher knife and chopped it into some pieces, but definitely with some bone pieces for them to try to gnaw at. He's crunchin em! I think he liiikes it I lightly breaded them (very lightly) with some kibble, I think he's starting to get into it. I'm so ecstatic! Molly of course liked the legmeat too. It's like she was born to eat raw haha. She is a pig =p edit: molly, the ferret rug in the living room! (jk haha =p)

Yay!!!! I'm so glad Leo tried some!! Hopefully now he'll start eating as well as Molly and we should be able to have them fully switched pretty quick here! LOL, love the pic!! "I ate toooo much!" ! Well keep me updated on how they're doing! For right now just continue the boney meat making the pieces get bigger and bigger until they're eating a whole leg without having it cut.

Not much to report. They're still working on some of the chicken legs I bought. I also got them to eat some chicken wings, they are gnawin on bones, really seem to like it. Their stool volume is so small now, is that normal? I'm almost worried because I don't see that much stool...

Glad they're eating it well! Once you feel comfortable you can go get livers and/or kidneys for them to eat. Once that's done we'll start switching them to at least two different kinds of meat. About the stool, their poo is going to be weird for a while, but it's normal for ferrets on a raw diet to poo less in smaller amounts.

Yep or you can do pork or beef. I think better to do chicken since that's what they're on. Either way works since it probably won't taste like chicken to them (yuck, lol!)
