Good news riku is starting to like the Raw. I have seen her start to munch on it I also leave out EVO that they can munch on through out the day. I was also wondering what you thought about bone meal as a supplement. I am trying to get then to eat some bone but is this a good alternative to actual bone.

That IS good news! And yes, bone meal until they start to eat actual bone is not a problem. How much is she "munching" on, by the way? Because if she's munching on a couple to three ounces of meat a day, she's eating full meals . And an ounce would be about 1 1/2 sq. in. cube of beef heart, or maybe 1 3/4 sq. in. of chicken meat . It's really not very much!

She is eating a good amount but I just give them raw in the morning before i go to school and then just before I go to bed. And then they have the evo to munch on during the daytime. I am just gone during the day. about how much bone meal should I give them per day?

I'd give them about a tsp. to 8 oz of meat. If she's eating a goodly amount of raw, you could just leave the kibble out during the day. That way, she'll fill up on whatever meat is left after her regular meal, then it just gets refreshed at bedtime. Believe me, she'll eat enough that you don't have to worry!

Sherry, I have been thinking a lot about raw food. I know it is a great food choice and the ferrets like it. I think I have finally decided that I am going to just use raw as a treat/supplement. Although moose loves it he is having a hard time digesting it. I am also afraid that they are not getting all the nutrients that they need through the raw that I have bee giving them. I am pretty sure they are, but in my mind I think feeding them the evo and with the occasional raw that would be good. I am also thinking about fostering and think it would just be too difficult to have my guys on raw and the other ferts on kibble. The other reason is that I have carpet flooring, not to raw friendly. Thank you again for all of your support and working with me. I will still be an active member of the group. And if I ever move into a place where I have a ferret room/ and non carpet floors I will look into feeding raw again. It is just not fitting my life style right now. Hope you understand. Once again thank you for your patience and all the great information that you have given me.

I understand. Even raw as a supplement is far better than none at all! Have you considered some freeze dried? Jojodancer, on here, has a webstore called Casey's Hidden Pantry. That's where I get mine from. My guys get that once in a while as well as their raw. And my cat is on straight freeze dried, at least until I can convince him meat is actually a food item . I do hope to see you around here. Ask questions! You never stop learning!

Thanks for understanding. I would really like to feed raw but my life has just been crazy right now. But once I am in a stable setting I will definitely look into it again. I love this group though and will still be active with other parts and still ask questions. I always have questions.
