I got lots of kisses from Willow this morning . She's no longer biting hard, and is starting to learn how to moderate her bite. I've started doing what Bev had suggested on FV, which is to push my finger back into her mouth when she does, and she spits me out now
She still panics if she feels she can"t get away, but I've started walking around while carrying her, and every time we go by the computer desk, she gets a lick of ferretone, so she's getting used to being held. We've even been able to pass it by a couple of times without her freaking out
Whenever she's out now, I've got two of the others out with her, some combo of Vincent, Boris , and Sinnead, so she's slowly learning to tolerate two at a time. She's starting to learn that they aren't going to hurt her, and they're learning to stay away from her pointy end . She doesn't hide in the tunnels all the time when the others are out with her either. Yesterday, Sinnead, Boris, and Willow shared a plate with some 'tone drizzled on it, and I remembered reading on Ferretopia about putting a small drizzle on the ferrets themselves, to help teach grooming(the idea is they lick it off each other, stimulating grooming practices). So I did that with Sinnead and Willow. It went quite well, until Sinnead decided Willow needed to be stashed . Didn't go over too well, so we shan't try that again
In a week's time, I'll try her with three ferrets. Intro's to Lucrezia will come last, after she's developed a bit more self confidence!
