***December 2008*** Holistic Ferret Photo Contest Sponsored By: One of our wonderful HF mentors: Heather! Theme: Since Heather is sponsering our first photo contest she gets to pic this month's theme. The theme will be "Look who stopped in for X-mas Dinner!" We want to see pictures of your ferrets eating natural food amidst festive holiday background/decore (x-mas, hanukkah, Kwanza, etc) When to submit photos: We will begin taking submissions of photos starting on DECEMBER 5th and we will continue to accept submissions through December 20th at midnight. The poll will open shortly after midnight on December 20th and will be open for THREE days, so be sure to cast your vote! Rules: Before submitting a photo for the contest you MUST read all the photo contest rules AND sign your name to show you have read and understand the rules. holisticferret.proboards80.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=contest&thread=1762&page=1Prize: The winner of the contest will recieve a one-of-a-kind hand drawn personalized portrait of your fuzzy(s). Heather (who knew!) is an amazing artist and will be donating her time and talent to draw a portrait of the winners fuzzy(s) for FREE! Winner must pay shipping though. Heather's portraits usually go for around $70-100 so this is truely a special treat! Check out some of her work below: Please Note: Drawing beautiful portraits like this takes time. In addition, Heather will be drawing the portrait of your ferret during the holiday season, she like many of us will probably be quite busy. Please allow approx 4-8 weeks for Heather to complete your portrait. To help things go faster, please think of what picture of your ferret(s) you would like heather to sketch (it does not have to be the photo you submit to the contest). Be sure the photo is crisp and clear, and have it ready to send to Heather the day you are announced the contest winner.

Due to the lack of any submissions, the December contest has been closed. Future contests will be considered if we can arouse significant support and interest.

Just my 2 cents.. the reason I didn't enter is because I thought it was be hard to get a good natural eating picture in a Christmas-y setting. One or the other would have been much easier. I know you were thinking of making the pictures into a calender so the requirements do make sense.
Honestly, with this contest, I think the picture was just a hard one to get..
Just wanted to let you know that it was not due to lack of interest that I didn't enter... please consider starting more contests in the future. With nice weather coming back soon, it'll be easier for people to take good pics of their fuzzies.

I agree with Jen. I really wanted to submit a picture, but it was a little to complex to get a picture of my ferrets eating meat with a Christmas setting.

This was a hard contest to do. I wanted to post what I came up with in Dec but Dec. was a crazy month. Not the best pic but this is the best we could do. Katara & Prince Zuko Eating a nice chicken dinner.

Thanks! They didn't want anything to do with the hen. They were trying to figure out why they were on the table and what they had on lol. The best thing is that I got the outfits at the dollar store! They are for dogs but I just took them in a bit. I think Zuko doubled his weight from the time I altered them to the time the picture was taken. He is now such a fat fuzzball.
