Trouble turned up with one of her common mast cell tumors today. It's hard to tell in the photo but the area is slightly raised. I think I noticed it right away this time; there was lots of fresh blood. The picture is after I cleaned it up and dabbed aloe on it. As if they don't look bad enough, I notice that they seem to clot really slowly... I made her a bowl of soup and held a kleenex to it until it stopped, and ten minutes later it was hardly visible. So when they appear black or crusty, it's just the scabby dried blood. And here is Trouble taking care of the 'tone I used to distract her... She looks fine on her feet, but this angle really emphasizes her, um, pear shape:

They do seem to take forever to clot, huh? Pilot occasionally gets mast cell tumors but I've only ever had one that was a real problem, she usually doesn't bother them enough to make them bleed.
