Sorry for being a nub but I've never been very good with ferret colors and markings. It's kind of embarrassing when I can't even tell people what color my own ferret is I know (think) the one on the left is sable but I'm not sure on the other. My best guess is silver mitt but I don't really know.

Thanks She's my crazy girl. She went straight from kibble to whole prey (admittedly at a young age) the first night I brought her home and I was amazed the first time I gave her a live mouse how quickly she dispatched it. Natural hunter for sure Only issue she does have is her stubborn refusal to use the litter box when not in the cage. The carpet right next to it is almost always more tempting. Maybe you and Koda would like to take her and save me the trouble of properly litter training her

I will PM you my address immediately.

You know what's crazy is if I had followed my original plan I would be living in Anchorage. That's where that blanket is from I may not have ever gotten ferrets though

It's tough to tell what color she is...if she develops a mix of white and dark guard hairs, then she would be a silver, which has is the older terminology for a roan. Ideally, a silver/roan should have 50% white and 50% darker guard hairs. She has the mitt pattern (4 white feet and white bib). She has a hood (dark strip that extends down the forehead into the face ). It appear that she has a partial blaze marking on the top of her head/neck. My Shaman is an example of a black roan mitt that does not meet the AFA standard verywell. He has very little roaning (white hairs) in his body. His nose should be all black. Here's the best part...and the cutest of all....he has a "dirty mitt", which means he has dark spots in one of his front mitts I told Shaman he could turn whatever color he wanted to as long as he kept his Spotted nose and his dirty mitt!!! SO far, he has listened and his colloring has been extremely stable with roaning on only his legs/tail/and a little on his face. He's over 4. You can check him out on my banner. -jennifer
